WELCOME to  The Gas Drilling Awareness Coalition

The Gas Drilling Awareness Coalition, Inc. (GDAC) is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to informing the citizens of Luzerne County about natural gas drilling, pipelines and related infrastructure. GDAC was formed by a small group of concerned citizens from all walks of life to address the impact that Marcellus Shale Gas Drilling will have on our communities and our way of life.

Our organization is effectively educating the public of the environmental dangers and negative community impact associated with natural gas drilling.

GDAC has grown exponentially from a core group of 12 people to a membership of over 100 dedicated to effectively address the myriad of issues caused by gas drilling.  We have expanded our reach by forming partnerships with other groups in Pennsylvania.
